North Point is the village center at Reston’s north end. Fairfax County’s Reston plan describes “more than 27 acres”: about 10 of homes, “low-rise multifamily units, some of which provides affordable housing,” and 17 of neighborhood shops. Around it are townhouse clusters, apartments and single-family streets running south toward Lake Newport and Baron Cameron Avenue. It is the one Reston village zoned for Herndon’s middle and high schools.

Where it is
“Vehicular access and visibility are provided via Reston Parkway, Center Harbor Road and Lake Newport Road,” the plan says. It keeps the shopping area for “neighborhood serving retail and service uses,” allows future homes there at “20 or fewer dwelling units per acre,” and expects the homes around it “to remain unchanged.” “Currently there is no redevelopment plan for this Village Center.”
The plan does not draw a line around the wider village, so this page covers the homes within about half a mile of the village center, placed by the county’s shopping centers map layer, inside the Reston plan boundary. All of it is in ZIP code 20194. Reston is unincorporated: Fairfax County provides police, fire and rescue, even where schools are Herndon’s. See who to call.

“Most of the area outside of the TSAs is governed by one of the larger homeowners’ associations in the United States, Reston Association,” the county’s Reston plan says, and it notes that Reston Association owns the Lake House at the southern end of Lake Newport. Ask a seller or landlord which association covers an address.

How we drew this area
North Point Village Center is one of five village centers in Fairfax County’s Comprehensive Plan for Reston. Because the plan does not map the village around it, this page uses the homes within about half a mile of the village center, from the county’s shopping centers layer, inside the Reston plan boundary. School and ZIP shares come from laying the FCPS attendance areas and the county ZIP code map over that circle. Park and store locations are © OpenStreetMap contributors.
